Staying active and moving well is very important for keeping your independence as you get older.

The National Institute on Aging is studying what causes people to lose mobility and how to prevent or improve it, so older adults can stay healthy and live on their own longer.

Physical Activity Guideline

The Physical Activity Guidelines encourage older adults to stay active for better health and independence. Aim for about 150 minutes of movement a week, plus strength and balance activities. Even small amounts of daily activity can boost energy, mood, sleep, and help you stay independent.
